The Warriors are looking to atone for a rough Christmas night performance against the Lakers when they were humbled in a 127-101 loss. Golden State (23-12) is hoping things go as well against Portland (19-15) as they did last month when the Warriors rolled to a 125-97 victory despite not having Stephen Curry on the court.
Getting Curry’s Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, back on track is also a priority for the Warriors. Thompson scored just five points on 2-of-7 shooting and has now scored less than 17 points in five straight games. However, he had 31 points in the Warriors’ earlier win over Portland.
The Blazers are also coming off a bad Christmas night effort in their 117-96 loss in Utah. Portland also has a star guard who is struggling in CJ McCollum, who had just 11 points against the Jazz, and has shot just 2-of-17 on 3-pointers the past four games.
The Warriors and Blazers will stage a rematch in Portland on Saturday night.
The Warriors will be back in action Thursday against the Trail Blazers before heading up to Portland for a rematch on Saturday night.
