J-Pop Singer May’n to Release New Single and Mini-Album in July

J-pop anime singer May’n, currently on the road for her 24-concert KICK IT UP!! Tour, including two shows in South Korea and Taiwan, announced the release of a new single, called “Kiba to Tsubasa,” and mini-album, called YELL!!, this summer.

“Kiba to Tsubasa,” meaning “Fangs and Wings” in English, is the ending theme of the upcoming animated series KOCHOKI – Wakaki Nobunaga starting in July, and the chorus of the new song is featured on the recently released second promotional clip for the anime. Three songs, including the title track, will be included on the CD single.

YELL!! is a six-track (plus one bonus track) mini-album featuring songs written by a number of prominent J-pop artists, including anime singer LiSA, former Funky Monkey Babys member Funky Kato, “Sakuranbo” singer-songwriter Ai Otsuka, and more.

May’n also contributed to the songwriting, and is credited for the music for “My Heroine” — with lyrics by LiSA — and the lyrics for “Lifetime with…” with music by Shiro Sagisu, a music producer and composer known for movie, anime and game soundtracks, including Neon Genesis Evangelion.

YELL!! is my first mini-album in 10 years and contains my journey so far, my gratitude and eagerness to be with fans in the years to come,” the 29-year-old artist said. “I hope it becomes the May’n’ theme for those of you doing your best every day.”

“Kiba to Tsubasa” and YELL!! will drop July 31.
