Another day, another complication for DeMarcus Cousins.
On Friday, TMZ Sports reported that Cousins was amenable to cooperating with the Mobile Police Dept., which has a warrant out for his arrest, but he isn’t cleared to fly after ACL surgery on his right knee. Thus there is no practical way to get him to Alabama to turn himself in.
It is unknown where Cousins had the surgery.
According to TMZ, “most doctors recommend not flying for days (and sometimes weeks) after an ACL surgery because of the risks of clotting.
The warrant was issued after Cousins allegedly made a threatening phone call to the mother of his child. He is charged with 3rd degree-harassing communications, a misdemeanor.
Per TMZ, Cousins threatened to put a bullet in the woman’s head during a telephone argument in which Cousins’ ex-girlfriend denied his request to have his 7-year-old son attend his wedding. USA Today reported Thursday that the woman had signed a warrant.
Cousins spent last season with the Warriors largely rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon. In July Cousins signed with the Lakers. Recently, during a pick-up game he tore his ACL.
