I recently had the chance to speak with producer, director and choreographer Nigel Lythgoe about the upcoming LAIDF (Los Angeles International Dance Festival) taking place from April 11 to April 26, 2020. He has partnered with award-winning choreographer Debbie Allen to promote the importance of dance in Los Angeles and to showcase some of the best dancers and choreographers for a fun-filled 16 days.
The festival will feature performances, workshops and films as well as master-classes in different venues around Los Angeles, while embracing National Dance Day. When speaking with Nigel about this upcoming event, he was very passionate about making this a platform to share the importance of raising funds for dance in LA -which is sadly, often lacking in support.
The Los Angeles International Dance Festival is not to be missed, especially if you are an aspiring or accomplished dancer -after all, you can never learn too much when it comes to dance! Above everything else, it will be a fun packed time with lasting memories, while witnessing some of the best dancers in the world. Both Nigel Lythgoe and Debbie Allen are thrilled to be a part of such an amazing festival supporting the arts -and can’t wait for the rest of the world to be a part of it too!
When asked what he likes to do in his down time, Nigel mentions he loves to spend time at home in his beautiful garden that is filled with many colorful flowers and fruit trees, which he finds very therapeutic among his busy schedule.
