Two men arrested in connection with Orinda Halloween shooting

MARTINEZ — In the latest round of police raids connected to the Orinda Halloween party shooting that left five dead, federal and state authorities arrested two men in their late 20s Thursday afternoon.

Domico Dones, and Frederick Johnson, both 29, were arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility a little before 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s weekly arrest report. The location of their arrest was not listed.

The shootings are related to the Orinda Halloween party shooting, authorities confirmed, but the full extent of their suspected involvement is unknown.

The arrests come a week after five were arrested in connection with the shooting, in a series of raids in Vallejo, Antioch, Marin City, and San Mateo. But that was followed by the bombshell news that county prosecutors had declined to file a case. Four of those suspects have since been released from jail, except for one, who remains held on a probation violation.

County prosecutors are expected to review a case related to the arrests Friday afternoon.
