Kanye West is churning out operas like mix tapes. Hot on the heels of last month’s Nebuchadnezzar, ‘Ye will debut his second opera in as many months on Sunday (Dec. 8) when he unleashes Mary in Miami. Like his previous effort, Mary will feature West’s Sunday Service choir and direction by the rapper‘s creative partner Vanessa Beecroft, who also helmed Nebuchadnezzar.
West tweeted out the announcement of his new work on Thursday night (Dec. 5) with little additional information save for a quote from Luke 1:30-31, “And the angel said unto her, fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” Nebuchadnezzar starred Sheck Was as the emperor; at press time there was no casting information on Mary.
