Railroad Earth, Seventeen and more

Here’s a look at the top concerts of the week, highlighted by the return of a popular jam band and a rising K-pop act.

Railroad Earth

A favorite of jam-band fans, Railroad Earth steams back to the Fillmore in San Francisco for two shows, Jan. 17 and 18. The New Jersey act, which combines elements of bluegrass, rock and other genres in its music, is supporting its latest release, “The John Denver Letters.”

Seventeen

The 13-member K-pop juggernaut is supporting its third studio album, “An Ode,” with an eight-city North American tour that includes a stop on Jan. 21 at the SAP Center in San Jose.

Rex Orange County

The much-buzzed-about indie-pop artist – whose real name is Alexander O’Connor and who actually hails from England, not Orange County – visits the Masonic in San Francisco on Jan. 16 and the Fox Theater in Oakland on Jan. 17.

Theo Katzman

The funk-rock-pop artist, who is best known for his work as a member of Vulfpeck, visits the Fillmore in San Francisco on Jan. 19. Rett Madison opens the show.

Elbow

The cool English rock act, led by the charismatic Guy Garvey, performs Jan. 20 at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Jesca Hoop is also on the bill.
