Australian Toddler Plays In Puddles For First Time As Rain Finally Falls On Family’s Drought-Stricken Farm

Australian mother says her two-year-old playing in the rain for first time in his life brings such joy

Yound Archie Saunders did something a few days ago he’s never done in his life.

He played in the rain.

The two-year-old lives on a farm in New South Wales, Australia that has faced drought for most of Archie’s life.

Dad, Nick Saunders, needed to show toddler Archie how to play in the rain and puddles.

That drought has created the conditions for the wild bush fires that have ravaged Australia.

So, when rain started to fall Wednesday, the family headed out to celebrate.

Dad, Nick Saunders had to show little Archie what you do with a puddle and mud.

Saunders told The Daily News Australia that her family so glad these photos are bringing joy around the country and the world.

‘We love nothing more than making people smile and laugh,’ she said.

‘Through such hard times, we must stick together and hope and pray for rain.

‘There are many others way worse off than us, who need rain more than us.

‘But we will take what we can get. Any rain is good rain.

‘And we pray for all the farmers out there who are either suffering from drought or bushfires, for things to settle down soon.

This crisis is far from over.

Newshub.co.nz reports Firefighters continue to battle blazes in the inferno-ravaged country. In NSW, 135 fires are still burning and about 50 are still not contained.

Victoria’s state of disaster has been extended to Saturday.

Here’s how you can help Australian wildlife.
