Here’s our weekly look at the top shows hitting the Bay Area, highlighted by four performances by one of America’s most acclaimed avant-garde artists.
Anderson, the violinist, singer, composer and avant-garde artist, performs four different shows on four nights at the SFJazz Center in San Francisco.
The run opens with Anderson performing with bassist Christian McBride and cellist Rubin Kodheli on Jan. 23. Then Anderson and Kodheli perform a duo gig on Jan. 24. Next up, she joins forces with singer/composer Mike Patton (of Faith No More fame) on Jan. 25. The run concludes with Anderson performing a solo show on Jan. 26.

The Georgia-born R&B vocalist is out on the road supporting his sophomore effort, “King of R&B,” and performs Jan. 24 at the Masonic in San Francisco.

Already a major star in his native U.K., this indie-rock/pop/folk/soul singer-songwriter is seeing his popularity now spread across the Atlantic to the U.S. He supports his third studio album, 2019’s “Kiwanuka,” with a date at the Fox Theater in Oakland on Jan. 25.
