The killing of the unidentified woman is San Jose’s third homicide of the year.
When the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Peter Rodriquez, allegedly called police at 5:24 a.m. Saturday, he said he hadn’t spoken with the woman for several hours, according to San Jose police.
When officers arrived at the residence in the 2000 block of Mondigo Avenue near Overfelt High School, they found the woman with multiple stab wounds and pronounced her dead.
Police are still investigating the motive and circumstances of the killing as well as the relationship between the suspect and victim.
Police say the coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim after relatives are notified.
